  • The Beginning Dance Camp Program is for students ages 5–9 with two or fewer years of prior dance training. These one-week sessions include ballet classes and supplemental lessons in tap and jazz. Each week is themed and students participate in dances and crafts that are based on this theme. Dance Camp finishes the week with an in-studio performance for family and friends! Ticket Details: $225 – General Public $175 – CBS Students $100 – Military Enrollment is on a first-come, first-placed basis. A $100 non-refundable deposit is due at the time of registration.   • The Intermediate/Advanced Summer Workshop is designed for serious dance students and aspiring professionals. It provides an opportunity to develop technical skills and broaden students’ dance horizons in a friendly, yet professional atmosphere. Founding Director Maxine Mahon developed this curriculum based on Russian and Cecchetti techniques and has honed it further over many years of experience. This workshop is appropriate for students ages 9 and older. Pointe work will be offered however, pointe experience is not required to participate. The daily class schedule is arranged to simulate a professional dancer’s day. Intermediate/Advanced students will participate in a variety of classes, including ballet technique, variations, character, jazz, and contemporary. 2023 Dates: Session I: July 31-Aug. 4, 2023 Session II: Aug. 7-11, 2023 Each week runs Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Ticket Details: $450 - General Public $375 - CBS Students $300 - Military Enrollment is on a first-come, first-placed basis. A $200 non-refundable deposit is due at the time of registration and will be deducted from the total tuition due. The tuition balance is due no later than July 18th, 2023. Non-CBS students living in San Diego who wish to attend may call the school to schedule a placement class. Auditions are not required. Workshop registration is open.

  • The Alliance Française San Diego is proud to present the city’s cinematic event of the year, the San Diego French Film Festival, gathering cinephiles and francophiles, to celebrate francophonie, culture, and gastronomy. The Festival runs from June 11 to June 13, with a glamorous opening ceremony on June 11 at the high-end movie theater THE LOT in the heart of La Jolla with guests from the film industry, the arts and diplomacy. Three days to celebrate francophone cinema. The selection includes movies each depicting a different aspect of the concept of travel, with the feature films L’Astronaute (France), Le Plongeur (Canada), Mascarade (France), and Covid-19 Ground Zero (France-USA), the short film Cendres (Tunisia), and a selection of ten short films. In line with its mission to support culture, part of the profits will support educational programs for students learning French in the San Diego school district.
