This beginner-friendly workshop will teach you several different macrame knots and also help develop your knotting skills. Finished shelf and hanging dimensions are approximately 12 inches wide by 36 inches in length. Choose from a basic Pine wood shelf, or upgrade to a darker-hued Walnut wood. All supplies and materials are included. Nicknacks in photo are not included.   • Fiber Fest Drop Spindles! We are excited to offer this fun woodworking workshop for Fiber Fest! Join us for a morning of fiber & woodworking friendship and camaraderie. This workshop is geared for fiber enthusiasts, menders, and beginners interested in making their own drop spindles for spinning yarn. This is a special offering in conjunction with Fiber Fest, a 3-day celebration of wool as a sustainable material. This 3-hour woodworking workshop will acquaint students with a woodturning lathe, its parts, the tools needed, safety tips, tool sharpening techniques and how to shape wood on a lathe. The class will consist of students learning to round a piece of square stock, learning the four basic cuts and turning a drop spindle as their take home project. This is a beginner-friendly workshop which is open to all genders. This class is appropriate for ages 16 years and older. All materials included. This workshop is part of Craft Collective’s first-ever Fiber Fest! You’re invited to join in the festivities the day before, on Saturday, June 8th, for a day filled with fiber fun!   • The Friends of the Malcolm X Library present our Annual Fundraiser, Gift Day. The Friends support the library, in part by having book sales and hosting events. This event is free and will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Our event will feature amazing local talent including a live band and DJ, a choir, a story teller, line dancers and face painting for the kids. Local vendors will be selling a variety of great merchandise. The Friends of the Malcolm X Library will be selling hot dogs, nachos, beverages and books.
