As the work is being performed, members of the public will have the opportunity to walk and bike the highway while helping to clean it up and learn more about the Reconnecting Communities: Highways 2 Boulevards Pilot Program. Caltrans, SANDAG, Mundo Gardens, and the Urban Collaborative Project CDC will host this family-friendly event, which will include booths from public agencies and community organizations, live art demonstrations, and other engagement activities. We will paint from a life model on location at La Jolla Shores. Students are also welcome to draw instead of paint from the model if they prefer. Plein air painting is an excellent way to learn about oil painting technique and triumph over creative issues while enjoying the camaraderie of fellow artists. The class will emphasize value study, landscape composition, and color theory using a limited palette taught through demonstration and individual instruction.
