  • Date: Sunday, June 14, 2026 Time: 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. Where: Native Poppy Solana Beach 142 S Cedros Ave, Solana Beach, CA 92075 Limited Spots Available! Becoming a Florist is a rotating workshop series built around the wide range of floral designs professional florists create for weddings, events, and retail work. Each month focuses on a core floral form—giving participants the opportunity to build real-world design experience across styles, scales, and applications. Throughout the series, you’ll learn professional florist approaches to mechanics, structure, flower care, and design decision-making, along with practical considerations like handling, transport, and longevity. This series is designed to support both arranging hobbyists and working florists looking to expand their technical skills and confidence. This month's topic: tall flower arrangements. In this workshop, we’ll design a tall, vertically-styled floral arrangement. Instruction will cover the specific mechanics, proportions, and techniques used to create height, balance, and stability, along with guidance on flower selection, stem placement, and overall composition. Emphasis will be placed on creating movement and structure while maintaining a natural, garden-inspired feel. Please note: you are not required to be a professional florist, provide proof of previous classes or a portfolio. The tall arrangement class is appropriate for all skill levels. Whether you’re exploring floristry as a creative practice or actively working with flowers, this series offers hands-on experience across essential floral forms. Native Poppy on Facebook / Instagram
