The OB Dirty Birds Wing Eating Contest and Hodad’s Burger Eating Contest will take place in the afternoon on the main stage. The Chili Cook-Off features awards for the Judges’ Award, and the Grand Prize: People’s Choice. With both amateur and restaurant divisions, chili tastings are available, or attendees can purchase a Master Ticket for $30 to sample every entry and vote for their favorite. The Ocean Beach Street Fair & Chili Cook-Off presented by Buzz Cannabis takes place Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the 4800–5000 blocks of Newport Avenue and along the waterfront. Free parking is available at the Sun Runner parking lot on Sea World Drive along Pacific Coast Highway. Twilight in the Park Free Concerts are starting their 45th year of hosting San Diego musicians performing at the iconic Spreckels Organ Pavilion in Balboa Park. St. Madeleine Sophie’s Center (SMSC) will celebrate six decades of empowering adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities at its 60th Anniversary fundraising event, California Dreamin’. This signature event will take place at SMSC’s secret two-acre organic garden, bringing together community leaders, philanthropists, and local businesses for a picturesque sunset celebration. Guests will enjoy a signature cocktail reception, beer and wine, an elevated sunset dinner, and a live Beach Boys tribute band. The coastal-themed evening will also include an opportunity drawing and silent auction. Proceeds from the event will benefit SMSC’s Garden and Aquatics programs that promote independence, confidence, and inclusion for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Through its innovative programs, SMSC gives students a chance to develop creative outlets and learn marketable skills. The aquatics program offers year-round swimming classes and a social experience with a broad spectrum of health benefits. The organic garden serves as a reality-based work training environment, with students learning horticulture and customer services skills to improve their daily lives and branch out as important contributors to the greater community.
