  • The process of mending changes our relationship with clothing, minimizes our environmental footprint, and gives us the opportunity to individualize what we wear. In this hands-on workshop, you will learn in the community of others, how to mend and decorate your favorite piece of clothing using the age-old traditions of the simple running stitch embroidery such as sashiko and kantha stitching, patching and darning while blending creative joy with usefulness. What you should bring: • A piece of clothing that needs mending, repair or embellishment (e.g. pair of jeans) • A scrap of fabric for patches (print works best, although the fabric shouldn’t be too thin) • & a thimble Instructor will provide: thread, darning/Sashiko needles, and will have some scrap fabric available too. This class is appropriate for ages 12 years and older.
