The La Jolla Region of the Horseless Carriage Club of America is pleased to host the 2nd Annual San Diego Excursion. The drive of vintage cars through the streets starting from the San Diego Automotive Museum to Point Loma is a display to the public to show the preservation for future generations. The first annual event in 2025 turned out to be a joyous day for drivers and spectators and we look forward to seeing you on Sunday Jan. 11, 2026. The Schedule: Our best guess as to when the cars will start passing these neighborhoods: North Park / Mission Hills: 9:15 a.m. - 10 a.m. Point Loma (the Race Route): 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Liberty Station Car Showing: Noon - 2 p.m. We have been provided space in Liberty Station to allow the public to see the cars and talk with the drivers. This lot is located directly in front of the building at 2468 Historic Decatur Rd, San Diego, CA 92106 The Antique cars have a section dedicated for them to be parked and spaced so you can enjoy them up close. Dr. Rima Greenhill will discuss how a close reading of "The Winter’s Tale" will reveal the author’s detailed knowledge of Muscovite life, culture, climate, and Anglo-Russian marriage negotiations. And you will learn why the play contains the stage direction “Exit, pursued by a bear.” Dr. Greenhill is a Senior Lecturer in Russian language in the department of Slavic languages and literatures at Stanford University. Prior to that she taught at the School of Slavonic and East European Languages, London University where she also received her PhD in Russian language and literature. She is the author of "Shakespeare, Elizabeth and Ivan: The Role of English-Russian Relations in Love’s Labours Lost."
