  • City Tacos’ OB Playground in Ocean Beach is hosting its first dog adoption event of the year with pups from PAWS4Thought Animal Rescue on Saturday, January 6 from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Stop by to meet adoptable Chihuahua mixes like Thumper and Laramie, and, if you’re hungry, grab the January Taco of the Month – the Green Machine (golden tempura green beans over a bed of arugula and topped with a fresh corn, squash, red bell pepper medley, along with a Veracruzana sauce made with cherry tomatoes, onions, and capers. It's all crowned with corn tortilla crisps, cilantro serrano aioli, and microgreens.)

  • This event was started by Hank Deutschendorf who started West Coast Martial Arts Academy. We are officially renaming it this year in his honor not only because he loved the event but also to bring awareness to mental health struggles. All proceeds from this event will go directly to SOSL. We have created walls that create the illusion of an endless hallway with no escape. Our goal is to give survivors a place where they can comfortably express themselves, find support, comfort, resources and hope in a judgment-free environment.   • Jill Linder serves as the internal and external point person for TV programming working together with independent producers, national program distributors, vendors and public television colleagues to enact the KPBS TV programming schedule and ensure that the programs airing on KPBS meet the station's standards and mission to the community. In addition, she works collaboratively to develop and execute promotion strategies for key TV programs across all media platforms to reach the widest audience possible. Jill has been with KPBS since 2003. Prior to joining the station, Jill worked at local commercial TV stations including KUSI and KSWB (Now Fox5 San Diego). She earned her bachelor’s in interdisciplinary studies from National University.
