The event will spotlight the growing threats faced by journalists around the world and highlight the vital role of a free press in defending human rights and freedom of speech. The evening will feature a screening of the acclaimed Frontline documentary "Putin vs. the Press", followed by an interactive advocacy session where attendees will have the opportunity to take action on behalf of journalists facing persecution, imprisonment, and violence for doing their jobs. “In an era of disinformation, censorship, and rising authoritarianism, journalists, reporters, writers, and bloggers are increasingly targeted for exposing the truth,” said a spokesperson for Group 471. “This event is a chance to raise awareness and stand in solidarity with those who risk their lives to keep the public informed.” The event is open to all and aims to engage the community in defending press freedom and the individuals who uphold it around the globe.
