  • Stream now with KPBS Passport, a member benefit that unlocks exclusive shows and extra content on the PBS App. This documentary from inside North Korea, is produced and directed by filmmaker and professor Savanna Washington, who visited the isolated country under a tourist visa. Through interviews with North Korean refugees, long-time aid workers, scholars, and experts, the film provides both a historical overview of the country and an authentic, on-the-ground perspective of the lives, struggles, and humanity of the people of North Korea. The film also underscores how everyday human moments – such as a simple game between visitors and locals – can contribute to greater understanding and inspire change.

  • Do you have questions about the November Ballot? Confused about the State and Local Propositions? Join the League of Women Voters of San Diego for a nonpartisan presentation at the Women's Museum of California Education Center and get your questions answered about the pros and cons of the State and Local Propositions that will appear on the November 2022 ballot. The League of Women Voters was officially founded in Chicago in 1920, just six months before the 19th amendment was ratified and women won the vote. For 100 years, we have been a nonpartisan, activist, grassroots organization that believes voters should play a critical role in democracy. The local San Diego League was established in 1936, and part of our mission has been to educate voters about the measures that appear on both the state and local ballots, providing nonpartisan information on the pros and cons of each. We never endorse nor oppose political parties or candidates, but we may take a stand on certain issues, if they coincide with positions the League has adopted in keeping with our mission.
