Join the Downtown San Diego Partnership Clean & Safe team for a fun and rewarding morning of giving back to our community! Volunteers will help beautify Children's Park and the surrounding neighborhood, making Downtown San Diego cleaner, safer, and more welcoming for everyone. Wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes. Depending on the weather, sunblock, a hat, and/or a light layer may be helpful. All clean-up tools and supplies will be provided—just bring your enthusiasm and willingness to help. Children are welcome to participate; however, all minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Thank you for volunteering your time and helping make a positive impact in Downtown San Diego. Additional event details will be shared with registered participants closer to the event date. Each summer, the British Museum's International Training Programme (ITP) brings together museum professionals from around the world for an intensive residency focused on collaboration, professional development, and knowledge sharing. This year, Mingei Collections Fellow Sedna Villavicencio joined the program, working alongside colleagues from more than 18 countries and visiting partner institutions throughout the United Kingdom. In this Coffee & Conversations, Sedna will share insights from her experience and reflect on the role of Indigenous and BIPOC museum professionals in shaping the future of cultural institutions. Drawing from her collaborations with the British Museum, Lincoln Museum, and the University of Nottingham Museum, she will explore the challenges, opportunities, and possibilities for creating meaningful change within museums today.
