Anthony Jeselnik is a critically acclaimed stand-up comedian. Over the past 25 years, he has performed all across the globe and has written, produced and starred in three Netflix comedy specials: "Thoughts and Prayers," "Fire in the Maternity Ward," and his latest, "Bones and All," all of which released to rave reviews. Jeselnik also wrote, produced and starred in the comedy special "Caligula" and the stand-up album "Shakespeare." In addition to his stand-up, Jeselnik is an Emmy-nominated writer who created, produced, and starred in the cult-classic television series "Good Talk with Anthony Jeselnik" and "The Jeselnik Offensive," alongside his breakout performances on "The Roast of Donald Trump" and "The Roast of Charlie Sheen." In 2026 Anthony launched the monthly Jeselnik Book Club, sharing his love of literature and hatred of everything else with the world. Kick off the Halloween season with a fun gathering. Our cartoon is "Cuckoo Murder Case" (1930). In "The Live Ghost" (1934), Stan and Ollie help sea captain Walter Long shanghai sailors for his ship. Of course they also end on the ship, which is rumored to be haunted!! Local favorite Russ Peck provides the music for "Do Detectives Think" (1927). Judge Foozle (James Finlayson) hires The Boys to protect him from "The Slasher"! What could go wrong? "Moan and Groan, Inc." (1929) features the Our Gang kids in a haunted house, with Edgar Kennedy as the helpful policeman! In "Bum Voyage" (1934), Thelma Todd and Patsy Kelly take a cruise on Friday the 13th... with a gorilla (Charles Gemora)! Lozano recorded 11 goals and nine assists in 34 appearances during San Diego’s successful inaugural season in 2025, but he was benched late in the season after an altercation in the locker room, and his relationship with the club never got better.

Former bass player of the alternative rock band Incubus, Ben Kenney, will hit the road in a limited run of club dates this August and September. The eight intimate shows will feature music from Kenney’s six solo albums as well as his upcoming untitled album due this fall. The tour kicks off in New York at Nublu and will wrap in Los Angeles. Fans of Incubus will get the unique chance to see the former bass player in a different light as lead vocalist and guitarist of his touring trio. In his solo music, Kenney, “tries to step outside my comfort zone and make music that does not exist, yet.” This tour brings him back to his “happy place after a long and difficult [health] journey” over the past few years. Kenney's solo music is a masterful blend of funk from his stint with The Roots, his East Coast punk days, and his more recent tenure in the indie rock world.

The Fair this week will feature a number of activities to help celebrate America250. Fair guests can watch military artist Joe Pisano continue creating Lady Liberty, a 20-foot-tall replica of the Statue of Liberty crafted from approximately 80,000 drywall screws. The large-scale work will come to life piece by piece throughout the event, offering visitors a rare opportunity to witness Pisano’s distinctive process up close. On Thursday, the Fair’s Home Arts & Hobby exhibit will host an American Heritage Quilt Block Contest. On Independence Day — Saturday — the Fair will feature a Fourth of July parade at 2 p.m. led by the Grand Marshal, Dr. Seuss’ Cat in the Hat. Fairgoers can wave along as Marine Band San Diego, the Euphoria Brass Band, and other entertainers bring star-spangled fun to life. At 7 p.m., Brownies & Lemonade will bring EDM acts to the Chevrolet Paddock Stage. At 7:30, Marine Band San Diego will perform on the Grandstand stage, with the annual Fair fireworks spectacular following at approximately 9 p.m. The full daily schedule and more information about the final five days of the Fair can be found at sdfair.com/events.

Join us at VolunBEERS on Tuesday, July 14, our quarterly fundraiser and service project! This event is a way to engage the community in service through our unique approach involving a local nonprofit, HOSD, and a local brewery, winery or restaurant. Our July VolunBEERS is dedicated to Encanto Elementary, a local Title 1 school supporting 400 students annually. We'll be packing school supplies for their students to receive before school starts back up! In addition to our project, we will be hosting a back to school drive and are requesting new items such as writing materials, backpacks, pencil pouches, and anything else school-related. We're also excited to share that another silent auction will be taking place. Please note that individuals must be at VolunBEERS to place their bids. Space and supplies are limited, so we recommend buying your tickets early.
