  • While there is no charge for this online event, please register in advance here. Our guest speaker this month is Jared Hanley, co-founder and CEO of NatureQuant, an Oregon-based company that develops tools to measure and improve the health benefits of nature. Its patented technologies, NatureScore® and NatureDose®, quantify environmental features and track individual nature exposure, promoting nature as a measurable health behavior. In this talk we will explore how NatureQuant is transforming the way we measure, understand, and apply “nature” as both a health driver and an economic variable. At the core of this work are several innovative technologies — including NatureScore, NatureDose, the Urban Heat Index, and the Tree Value of Statistical Lives which together quantify the quality and impact of natural environments. Our speaker will introduce how NatureQuant leverages machine learning models to combine environmental conditions with human exposure patterns, and create a data-driven understanding of both the natural spaces around us and the time people actually spend in them. We’ll also explore Substack Notes — the platform’s built-in feature for short-form posts that reach new readers without ever leaving Substack. The secret?
