  • HUMP! returns with an entirely new collection of short films for Fall 2026. For over two decades, HUMP! has been a platform for independent filmmakers to explore intimacy, identity, and connection without compromise. What began as a bold experiment has grown into a global showcase of boundary-pushing cinema where emerging voices and seasoned creators present work that is as thoughtful as it is provocative. Founded by Dan Savage, HUMP! has spent over two decades proving that intimacy is culture and that audiences are hungry for work that is bold, funny, handmade, and deeply human. This season continues that tradition. We look forward to seeing you soon. Price: General Admission: $20 Category: Arts | Visual Arts | Film / Cinema Date and Time: Friday October 23, 2026 at 7 p.m. to Saturday October 24, 2026 at 8:30 p.m. Venue details: Diversionary Theatre, 4545 Park Boulevard, San Diego, California, 92116, United States Visit: https://www.humpfilmfest.com
  • A salsa takeover is coming to the North City district in San Marcos this August as their “Dancing in the Street” series returns, bringing a free outdoor dance night held alongside its popular weekly Farmers Market. This month’s featured style is salsa on August 28, bringing upbeat Latin rhythms, quick footwork, and a lively social dance floor, all led by the professional dancers of Bella Lux Entertainment. The evening begins with a special performance from 6 to 6:15 p.m., setting the tone before the crowd is invited to learn the moves themselves during a guided dance class from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. The night wraps up with open dancing and a live DJ from 7:15 p.m. to 8 p.m. Between sets, guests can explore the farmers market, stop by North City’s eateries for sips and bites, and make their way back to the dance floor throughout the evening. • Beginning September 29, 2026, the "Remember Us The Holocaust Exhibit" will be on display at the San Diego Central Library, where truth in history comes alive through the voices, stories, and artifacts of those who lived it. Created by Sandra Scheller, daughter of Holocaust survivors Ruth and Kurt Sax, the exhibition presents the history of the Holocaust through survivor testimony, photographs, historical documents, artifacts, World War II memorabilia, and deeply personal stories. The exhibit also shares the experiences of Holocaust survivors who rebuilt their lives in San Diego and throughout Southern California. This unique Southern California exhibition brings together Holocaust and World War II artifacts and memorabilia with the documented history of the Holocaust. Through historical evidence and the personal experiences of survivors, the exhibit seeks to educate, inspire reflection, preserve memory, and ensure that these important stories are carried forward for future generations. The exhibition also features the ceramic artwork of Holocaust survivor Maria Coleman, whose work adds a deeply personal artistic expression of memory, survival, and resilience. Schools, community groups, organizations, and individuals are invited to visit the exhibit during regular library hours. Docent-led tours are available for schools and groups. To schedule a docent-led tour, contact admin@rememberustheholocaust.org or call 619-728-RUTH. "The Remember Us The Holocaust Exhibit" will remain on display at the San Diego Central Library through September 2028. Without RUTH, there is no TRUTH in history.
