  • MAKE Projects Pop Up Dinner will be held on the evening of October 24th at 6 p.m. This 4-course dinner event will celebrate Haitian cuisine infused with the rich flavors of San Diego farms and seas. Founded in 2017, MAKE Projects provides paid work experience and coaching to refugee and immigrant women facing employment barriers. It believes in the power of food to unite diverse communities, encouraging conversations around culture, history, and commonality. This dinner will feature San Diego-caught Spiny Tail Lobster and other Haitian-inspired dishes. This event highlights Make Project's year-long collaboration with Haitian participants in its job readiness program, embodying the love and hope they’ve brought to MAKE Projects. Atanu Chakraborty, Former Secretary of Economic Affairs in India, discusses how India stands at a precipice in the coming era under a new Trump administration. India is poised to soon become the world’s third largest economy and perhaps the most important democratic trade partner to the United States, but it faces substantial challenges in realizing its ambitions to be the world’s manufacturing powerhouse. The event will be held at UC San Diego campus at the Great Hall (directions included on the website below). The closest parking will be visitor parking at the Pangea Parking Structure. The event is open to any interested community members wanting to learn more about the topic and to all friends of the school. Registration for the event is free and required.
