New Mexico artist Karen Hymer uses the Gravure process to create self portraits which explore beauty and aging. San Francisco artist Jenny Sampson works with wet plate tintype portraits of girl skateboarders. Both of these 19th century processes are enjoying a resurgence today. The content, intent and warmth of Hymer and Sampson’s artworks make a remarkable connection in this exhibition of and about women.
