MohaviSoul is an award-winning, San Diego-based contemporary bluegrass and Americana band. Join us for the 23rd Annual Beautify Chula Vista Day—a powerful community cleanup event hosted by the City of Chula Vista in partnership with the South Bay Sustainable Communities Network. For more than two decades, this annual tradition has brought together thousands of dedicated volunteers to help preserve and enhance the beauty of our community. In 2025, more than 500 volunteers removed thousands of pounds of litter, painted out graffiti, and helped restore neighborhoods, creeks, and canyons throughout Chula Vista. Their commitment and hard work continue to make a meaningful impact and inspire positive change across our city. As we celebrate the 23rd year of Beautify Chula Vista Day in 2026, we look forward to introducing exciting new cleanup and beautification projects throughout Chula Vista, creating even more opportunities for our community to come together in service and civic pride. Brix Wines, an award-winning, couple-owned San Diego winery, is partnering with FMI, a San Diego-based wine club that hosts culinary and wine pop-up events across the city, to host a Chef Pop-Up with MabuHI at its flagship tasting room in the North City district in San Marcos. Taking place on Saturday, July 25 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., guests are invited to sip J. Brix's natural wines by the glass or bottle while enjoying chef-driven cuisine and live DJ sets in a relaxed indoor-outdoor setting. MabuHI, a food truck specializing in Filipino and Hawaiian cuisine, will serve a menu of pork BBQ, kalbi short ribs, chicken katsu and more, accompanied by DJ sets from Brayisme and Hundo. San Diego City Councilmembers Sean Elo-Rivera and Marni von Wilpert will be joined by transportation workers, labor leaders and community advocates at 1 p.m. Monday to address the expansion of autonomous vehicles — from such companies as Alphabet with Waymo, Amazon with Zoox and Tesla with Cybercabs.

The city is hiking the hourly parking meter rate for the first time in two decades.
