  • Forever Balboa Park offers thematic park tours that focus on the park’s unique biodiversity and highlight the park’s horticultural wonders on the second Saturday of each month. Led by park volunteer and horticultural enthusiast Bill Edwards, the free tours leave from the Visitors Center at 10:00 a.m. Modeled after a famous garden in Seville, Spain, Balboa Park’s historic Alcazar Garden features regularly changing floral displays, colorful tile work, box hedged walkways, a pergola, and two fountains. The entire garden is nicely shaded by a variety of trees from around the world, including the massive fig tree towering over one of the most photographed areas in the park.
