We welcome you and your family & friends to join us as we craft and honor the rich traditions of Día de los Muertos! Join us on Friday, October 2, from 4 – 7 p.m. at San Diego Craft Collective, located in the Dorothea Laub Building in the Arts District of Liberty Station in Point Loma! Stop by and explore traditional crafts! Learn to handmake paper flowers, mini altars, and festive crowns in honor of the upcoming holiday. Donations are welcome for participating in these activities. A contribution of $15 per person is appreciated to help us cover our costs. Donations can be made here. It is a time when families honor and welcome back the souls of their deceased loved ones with food, music, and joyful celebrations. This crafting event creates a heart-centered and safe space for all ages to honor their loved ones—both people and animals—who have passed. We invite families to learn, create, and celebrate together. Join the Downtown San Diego Partnership Clean & Safe team for a morning of community service at Tweet Street Park, where volunteers will help refresh the park and surrounding neighborhood through litter removal and beautification efforts. This hands-on volunteer opportunity is a great way to support your community, meet new people, and help create cleaner, more welcoming public spaces for residents, workers, and visitors alike. Whether you're volunteering for the first time or are a longtime community advocate, your efforts will make a meaningful impact. Please wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes. All clean-up supplies and equipment will be provided. Children are welcome to participate; however, all minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. We welcome you and your family & friends to join us as we honor the rich traditions and share in the experience of Día de los Muertos on Sunday, November 1 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Dorothea Laub Building in the Arts District of Liberty Station located in Point Loma! Stop by anytime during the day to join in the fun! Rooted in community, family, and remembrance, this event creates a heart-centered and safe space for all ages to honor their loved ones—both people and animals—who have passed. Through music, art, hands-on and interactive activities, we invite families to learn, create, and celebrate together. This is a non-scary, family-friendly gathering designed to foster cultural awareness, connection, and joy while celebrating the traditions of Día de los Muertos in our community. We’ll be decorating calavera (skull) cookies in the morning. Then, we’ll enjoy music making and festivities before a procession set to begin at 1:30 p.m. Join us as we walk together through the Dorothea Laub and Dance Place Buildings. We’ll enjoy the art, music making, and handmade shrines made by local community members and students! Festivities and open house will run until 2 p.m. Specific activities will be available as long as supplies last. We hope to see you there!
