  • In this workshop, we’ll define personal essays, and distinguish them from short stories. Examples of essay and short story collections will be shared, and students will get a chance to brainstorm some ideas they are interested in exploring in their writing (sharing those ideas with the class will be optional.) This workshop is for anyone at any stage of writing, whether you have a draft and are unsure of what it could be, or are just beginning your personal writing journey. Students will walk away from this workshop with a clear understanding of essays and stories, and will have a few of their own ideas to work on in the future.
