This event will feature a discussion between alumni Robert Brill '88 and Al-e McWhorter '18 as they discuss their career experiences, share insight and answer questions from the audience. ABOUT THE SPEAKERS: Robert Brill '88 is an internationally acclaimed scenic designer and current UC San Diego Theatre and Dance faculty member. A four-time Tony Award nominee, his work spans Broadway blockbusters, world-premiere operas at the Met, and immersive stage environments seen across the globe—from Hell’s Kitchen and Cabaret to collaborations with Disney and The Flaming Lips. Al-e McWhorter '18 is a production designer and art director whose career bridges film, visual media, and world-building. A UC San Diego Visual Arts alum and AFI-trained production designer, she’s worked with Industrial Light & Magic and major brands like Coca-Cola and Honda. Al-e recently led art direction for "The Musical," featured at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival.
