A Live Album Documentation Session featuring - Sure Fire Soul Ensemble, w/ Divina Jasso opening set The Sure Fire Soul Ensemble is a 9 piece, heavy, mostly instrumental funk band from San Diego, CA. Their influences are vast and include Hip Hop groups like Wu- Tang Clan and De La Soul, as well as funk and soul masters like Isaac Hayes, The Meters, and James Brown. Two of their last three studio LPs debuted in the top 15 on Billboard’s Contemporary Jazz Chart. SFSE is equally at home in the studio as they are on the stage, where their original songs transform and take on new life through live performance. They have shared the stage with Kamasi Washington, Quantic, Lee Fields, Monophonics, Jungle Fire, The Family Stone, and most recently served as backing band for Hip Hop legend, Big Daddy Kane. The Sure Fire Soul Ensemble are definitely still on a roll coming off of their fourth studio LP for Colemine Records, Step Down, which debuted at #14 on Billboard’s Contemporary Jazz Chart. Workshops: - Learn to sew - bring a t-shirt or some other fabric (we will have some materials but will be limited ) - Screw your labubu - make your own doll - Key chains and things - Print on clothes (bring something to print on) - Wind down with a body wellness session - crafting is a low key sport Clothes Swap: Take a look into the forgotten corners of your closet and bring a few items to trade with a new friend. Please only bring clothes in good condition, that someone could appreciate wearing. Avoid bringing torn/ distressed/ stained clothes for swapping. Materials provided vs. what to bring: Provided: Sewing machines, some clothes + fabrics to sew or paint on , charm and doll making supplies. Bring: Clothes to trade, a t-shirt or two (sewing and/or printing). If you want you can bring your own project too.
