Salt & Straw’s sustainability-driven Waste Less Series, their monthly flavor series for April spotlighting often overlooked ingredients, and transforming them into indulgent and creative flavors that highlight the importance of minimizing food waste. Available at scoop shops beginning Friday, April 3, the Waste Less Series is a perfect way to celebrate Earth Month, enjoy craveable ice cream flavors that thoughtfully feature upcycled ingredients, and ensure less food is wasted. Over the past three years, Salt & Straw’s annual sustainability efforts have rescued over 50,000 pounds of food waste from the landfill, which speaks to how one of their key missions is utilizing their platform to shine a light on the issue of food waste and create solutions wherever possible. Join us for the opening reception of “Cross Currents,” a contemporary group exhibition bringing together artists from across the globe. Attention high school teens! Need a dress for prom? The Princess Project San Diego is partnering with the library to provide free prom dresses and accessories to eligible teens. Teens in grades 9–12 are welcome to register for an appointment to browse a selection of donated dresses in a variety of styles and sizes. Each participant may select one dress and one accessory at no cost. Click here to view available time slots and register. 1 dress and 1 accessory per person. Multiple bookings will be cancelled. Teens must bring proof of current enrollment in high school, and complete a waiver before their appointment. A: Each teen may register for one (1) appointment and select one (1) free dress and one (1) accessory. Multiple registrations will be cancelled. Q: Do I need an appointment, or can I just show up?
