  • Karl Zingheim, a lecturer at SDSU and Historian for the USS Midway Museum, will present on the crucial, and often overlooked, history of The San Diego Museum of Art and Balboa Park during World War I and World War II. His talk will detail how Balboa Park and the Museum supported the home front and war effort by serving as military facilities, temporary housing, training grounds, and centers for morale and cultural preservation.   • Bressi Ranch Village Center, an open-air shopping center in the heart of the Bressi Ranch community in Carlsbad, California, invites the community to celebrate spring during its annual Easter Egg Hunt, taking place March 27 - through April 5. This year, the Village Center is adding a playful, digital twist to the classic tradition, encouraging guests of all ages to explore every corner of the center through a self-guided, interactive scavenger hunt. Guests begin their adventure by scanning QR codes placed throughout the property, including popular stops across the center’s shops, outdoor walkways, gathering spots and breezeways. After a quick registration, the mobile experience guides guests through a series of clues leading to six hidden eggs located throughout the property.
