  • Visiting Artist Shareout: Melanie Taing Join us on Saturday, July 11 from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. at Revision La Mesa for an afternoon of storytelling, creativity, and community with visiting artist Melanie Taing (@olliepotstudios). After developing chronic migraines and other disabling health conditions in 2022, Melanie found healing and resilience through Traditional Chinese Medicine, tea-making, and ceramics, with pottery becoming a space for creativity, reflection, and restoration. From 1 p.m. – 2 p.m., Melanie will share stories about her artistic practice, cultural heritage, disability journey, and the ways creativity, community, and care have shaped her work. From 2 p.m. – 4 p.m., participants are invited to create their own ceramic coasters inspired by Melanie's signature vinyl resist technique, which she uses throughout her work, including pieces from her Amrita collection and playful pop-culture-inspired ceramics. - Open to all - Drop-in, no RSVP required - Free to try, $10 to have your piece fired At Revision, our goal is to connect and center disabled artists through storytelling, community building, and creative practice. We’re taking over House of Blues San Diego in San Diego on 11 July 2026 for a night of screaming every word, moshing with strangers, and feeling absolutely everything. This is not a quiet night out. Expect wall-to-wall emo and pop punk anthems, deep cuts, and songs you still know by heart even if you pretend you’ve “moved on.” From the tracks that got you through your worst years to the ones that still hit a little too hard, Emo Night Brooklyn is all about losing your voice, finding your people, and reliving the music that made us who we are. And yeah sometimes special guests and your favorite artists even jump in to join the chaos. Come ready to scream, mosh, dance, cry in the corner (no judgment), and throw yourself into the pit with all your favorite people. Tell the DJs what you want to hear and we promise we listen better than your ex. It’s loud, it’s emotional, and it’s the kind of night that reminds you it was never just a phase. So get ready, San Diego. Lace up your boots, warm up your vocal cords, and meet us in the pit at House of Blues San Diego on 11 July 2026. Emo Night Brooklyn is calling — and yes, we need every soul. • From the musical mastermind that brought you ProgJect - The Ultimate Prog Rock Experience, Jonathan Mover now delivers the same for jazz-rock: PffT - A Modern Take on Classic Fusion. Similar to ProgJect, Mover has assembled a variety of medleys, as a tribute and homage to the masters of fusion, a.k.a., Jeff Beck, Billy Cobham, Allan Holdsworth, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Tony Williams, Weather Report, and Brand X, to begin with. Also similar to ProgJect, this music is not easy to play, nor is it for the faint of heart. It was going to take a select few from an even smaller pool to choose from to make this other “dream gig” come true. Mike Keneally was Mover’s first thought, “On any instrument he wants to play,” and happily welcomed Mike’s immediate reply, “Absolutely! Can I play keyboards?” Done. It was Keneally who recommended Bryan Beller on bass, someone Mover was very familiar with but had not had the opportunity to play with, until now. The guitar spot was the last to fill. There were the obvious fusion monsters out there, but one ‘new name’, recommended by many, kept coming up, “Andrew Synowiec,” so Mover started making calls. The initial response from several was, “This sounds amazing, please send me some medleys to check out.” The next response was, “This stuff is amazing, but would take too many brain cells,” except for one... Andrew Synowiec, “I’m down.” And thus, PffT was formed. Playing Lots of Notes from Jeff Beck, Billy Cobham, Allan Holdsworth, Tony Williams, Weather Report, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Brand X, and more. Before PffT takes the stage, acclaimed guitarist and composer Travis Larson will open the evening with a special performance, showcasing the virtuosity and innovation that have made him a favorite among progressive and fusion music fans.
  • "Die Already" is a queer horror comedy that loves the genre it's skewering, gleefully deploying every slasher convention while turning them inside out. It's bloody, it's funny, it's surprisingly sexy, and it has a lot to say about who gets to survive, and who's been writing the script all along. It's Halloween night in a small gay bar in Hillcrest, and Branigan Prescott has exactly one thing on his mind, ending a two-month dry spell. Dressed as Jason Voorhees with meticulous attention to detail and armed with a rubber machete, he's ready for anything. Or so he thinks. When Chase Hardesty walks in dressed as Kevin Bacon's death scene from "Friday the 13th," it feels like fate. Two horror obsessives, same movie, same night. What follows is flirtation, trivia, dancing and the kind of meet-cute that only happens on Halloween. When Chase's partner Jordan arrives and an invitation back to their isolated cabin is extended, Branigan accepts, double dog dared by his best friend Gary into the adventure of a lifetime. But as the night deepens and the storm closes in, the rules of horror movies Branigan knows so well begin to apply with terrifying literality. Somebody has been doing their research. Somebody has been casting. And the final girl, or in this case, the final boy, is going to have to fight like hell to make it to the last frame. Compulsion Dance & Theatre: Website / Instagram
