We invite you to join us for a monthly gathering dedicated to exploring grief in all its complexity - gently, honestly, and in community. This 90-minute session with Grief Coaches Wendy & Claudia offers a space for grief education, guided sharing, and meaningful connection. Together, we’ll explore a wide range of topics - from understanding the emotional and physical impact of grief, to navigating anxiety, redefining acceptance, building rituals, and even making space for hope, gratitude, and moments of joy along the way. Grief is not linear, and neither are these conversations. Each gathering stands on its own while contributing to a larger, evolving understanding of what it means to live well while carrying loss, and how we can better care for ourselves and each other in the process. Class Description Spring Equinox: Planting Seeds for Peace Join us for this time of renewal as the days grow longer and the rhythm of life is enhanced; the earth turns and the balance of light and dark shifts. Spring is upon us and in our time together, we’ll honor the seasonal change by planting seeds and writing our reflections of the season. On Saturday, the day after the actual equinox (balance of light and dark), we’ll meet at Writers, Ink for our celebration and time together. I’ll provide the seeds and starter pots. You’ll provide the stories. Bring your journal or notebook. Wear comfortable shoes and maybe sunhat as we’ll go outside and saunter the grounds on this second day of Spring. Veterinary Specialty Hospital, in partnership with Pearl Street Pet Hospital and the San Diego Blood Bank, will host a community blood drive on Friday, March 14, bringing together human and veterinary blood donation efforts in one event. The blood drive will take place at Pearl Street Pet Hospital and offers community members the opportunity to donate blood through the San Diego Blood Bank while also learning how dogs and cats can become lifesaving blood donors through the VSH Blood Donor Program. Blood donations are critical for emergency care, surgery, trauma, and serious illness for both people and pets. By hosting a combined human and pet blood drive, the event highlights the shared importance of blood donation across medical and veterinary care. Community involvement helps ensure hospitals have access to vital blood resources when emergencies arise. The event is open to the public and designed to make participation easy, educational, and impactful. Additional community partners are supporting the event to help expand awareness and participation.
