Lowe’s stores nationwide will host fire safety events, sponsored by First Alert, on Saturday, Oct. 17, to educate families about the importance of whole-home safety and celebrate first responders. From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. local time, families can meet local first responders, explore fire trucks and emergency equipment, and learn how they help keep communities safe. Kids can also build their own firefighting plane during a special Lowe’s Kids Workshop, combining hands-on fun with safety education and community connection. The Circle Players will be performing "The Pie Ladies," a staged reading comedy. Meet the Pie Ladies, who are baking pies for the Church Dinner and reminiscing on how good things used to be. They decide to form their own country so that they can live life as they enjoy it. Through an unfortunate incident, they are jailed and now must plan a way to pay back the Pastor and their Landlady who posted bail. Come join the fun! Practical from the first evening, whether you are planning a trip to Italy, reconnecting with family roots, or working toward Italian citizenship. Three in-person beginner classes for adults with little or no prior knowledge of the language: beginner German, beginner Spanish, and English for Spanish-speaking adults. Build a practical foundation through conversation, listening, vocabulary, reading, writing, and grammar. The German and Spanish classes are taught mostly in English, adding more German or Spanish as the course progresses. The English class is taught mostly in Spanish, adding more English over time.
