The 27 Club presented by the Six String Society brings to life the legendary music & stories of Rock & Roll’s most infamous club. A club in which all the members share at least one thing in common; they all died tragically at the age of 27. People have wondered if they were ever all together and with the power of the audience’s imagination this occurs one evening in a mythical Greenwich Village apartment (circa 1969) the night before Woodstock. The candles burn late into the evening as these iconic figures begin to descend into the ‘Living Room.’ As the evening progresses, each icon performs their timeless songs with our signature group jam for the ages. Our All Star cast includes Whitney Shay (as Amy Winehouse), Lauren Leigh Martin (as Janis Joplin), Trevor James (as Jimi Hendrix), Tony Suraci (as Jim Morrison), Austin David (as Kurt Cobain), & Robin Henkel (as the spirit of Robert Johnson.) Additionally, this production will feature BMA (Blues Music Awards) winner Ms. Laura Chavez on guitar. After making its debut at the legendary Belly Up Tavern on July 10th, 2016, The 27 Club production has consistently sold out performances in performing art centers, prominent music venues, Nevada casinos & music festivals. Kids explore summer crafting! Choose from: June 16 – 20 -OR- July 14 –18, 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. Ages 7-12 years welcome! Super Craft Summer Camp is all about exploring fun, hands-on craft in the studio! Kids will be guided through several craft mediums, taught by artist-educators who love handmaking and sharing their skills! Each week of Super Craft Camp is different, so sign up for one or both weeks to explore craft and supercharge your child’s summer with creative inspiration and fun skills to create lots of future projects at home. June 16 – 20 from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. – Week will include: ceramics & glazing, painting & woodworking! July 14 –18 from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. – Week will include: paper maché masks, ceramics, sewing & more! These camps are for kids ages 7-12 years. OPTIONAL | Lunch Hour Supervision If there is a camp ending as ours begins and you need your child transferred from another camp, let us know! If your child is signed up for morning and afternoon camps here at The Maac at Liberty Station (the building San Diego Craft Collective is located in–Dorothy Laub Music & Arts Center), we’re here to provide that space for your them. Apt4Music will be supervising kids for outdoor play and lunchtime from 12 p.m. - 1 p.m. The purchase of the Camp Lunch Hour is for supervision only during this hour. "Uncharted Elsewhere" is a mixed-media exhibition exploring the surreal complexities of contemporary life! Through sculpture, textile, works on paper, and painting, artists reimagine landscape and form as sites of entanglement. The Bill Charlap Trio is celebrated as one of the leading ensembles in jazz today. Known for their sophisticated interpretations of the American popular songbook and jazz standards, their performances are often highlighted by Charlap’s elegant and nuanced piano playing, Peter Washington’s solid and melodic bass lines, and Kenny Washington’s sensitive and swinging drumming. A notable performance aspect is their deep musical rapport and intuitive interplay, honed over decades of collaboration. Their latest recording, "And Then Again," released in 2024 on Blue Note Records, was captured live at the Village Vanguard and showcases their continued evolution with inspired renditions of classics and compositions by jazz masters like Kenny Barron. The Bill Charlap Trio has received multiple GRAMMY Award nominations for albums such as "Somewhere: The Songs of Leonard Bernstein" and "The Bill Charlap Trio: Live at the Village Vanguard." Additionally, Charlap himself won a GRAMMY in 2016 for his collaboration with Tony Bennett on "The Silver Lining: The Songs of Jerome Kern," which featured the trio.
