Dear Interested Community Members, On October 16, 2026, the County of San Diego’s Planning Commission will consider proposed amendments to the Zoning Ordinance associated with the Tiered Winery – Rural Residential (RR) Expansion. These amendments expand eligibility for Wholesale Limited, Boutique, and Small Winery tiers within RR zones, expand allowable tasting and retail sales areas, and revise standards for outdoor amplified music at Boutique Wineries. The amendments also incorporate clarifications and operational refinements that support small agricultural operators and strengthen compatibility with rural communities. This update to the Tiered Winery Zoning Ordinance (Section 6910) was in response to direction from the Board of Supervisors on February 28, 2024 with additional direction given on February 11, 2026. Much like 19th-century humorist Mark Twain, Larry Maurice uses storytelling, verse, and oral history to preserve the culture of the American West. Using minimalist staging, Larry’s personal charisma, vocal modulation, and timing to holds his audience. His stories of the Old West blend historical education with entertainment. Beyond the stage, Larry has been an author, a poet, a rodeo announcer, a master of ceremonies and a historical advocate. He was named Cowboy Poet of the Year and received the American Cowboy Culture Award.
