"The Cost of Silence": An Immersive Art Installation & Film Experience May is Mental Health Awareness Month - a time to bring visibility to the inner experiences we don’t always have language for. "The Cost of Silence" is a multimedia art installation and short film exploring women’s emotional and mental health experiences; what is often unseen, unspoken, and unacknowledged, and the journey from silence into expression, awareness, and reclamation. Created by multidisciplinary artist and creative director Isabelle “Izzy” Atkinson, this project marks her first large-scale artistic work, bringing together storytelling, photography, sound, movement, and film into an immersive and deeply human experience. Developed following a painful and transformative period in her life, the project is rooted in the belief that what we carry internally deserves to be seen, felt, and shared. Through conceptual photography and cinematic storytelling, the installation invites guests into the emotional landscape we don’t always have space to express; grief, longing, rage, resilience, and becoming. An exclusive exhibition featuring 40 paintings of acclaimed Italian surrealist painter Aladino Ghioni known for his expressive use of color, layered texture, and surrealist interpretations of classical themes. At age 90, Ghioni remains one of Italy’s most respected living artists. His work has been showcased by many of the world’s leading cultural institutions, and his paintings are held in prominent museum and cathedral collections throughout Italy. In recent years, he has focused primarily on personal portraiture and commissioned works for private collectors. Ghioni’s art is permanently installed in several notable churches in Italy, including the Basilica of San Zeno in Verona, the Basilica of Saint Mary of the Assumption in Montecatini Terme, and the Duomo of San Lorenzo in Pescantina.
