TAUK has been painting with sound for nearly a decade now, pushing boundaries and reinventing themselves every chance they get. Founded by Dolan, Jalbert, and Carter, who began playing together as middle schoolers on Long Island, the band landed on its present incarnation in 2012, when college pal Teel joined full time. The 43rd Annual Adams Avenue Street Fair, presented by San Diego Foundation, features 75 musical acts on seven stages and is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21. Appetites will be put to the test at El Chingon, the popular “Bad Ass Mexican” hotspot at 560 Fifth Ave. in the Gaslamp Quarter. The restaurant will honor National Fish Taco Day with a high-energy fish taco eating challenge for serious taco fans on Sunday, Jan. 25. Taco enthusiasts with big appetites will be hooked on the eating challenge, which will have competitors racing to see who can finish five Jorge’s Taco de Pescado tacos the fastest.
