More than 150 people ages 16 to 24 attended a city youth fair in the East Village neighborhood Tuesday, officials said.

The city of San Diego is starting a street- resurfacing and repair project Tuesday in and around the neighborhoods of Clairemont Mesa, Ocean Beach, Point Loma and Rancho Penasquitos, officials said.

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County rose Tuesday for the 13th time in 14 days, increasing 1.1 cents to $5.03, its highest amount since Nov. 27.

San Diego is honoring the late Padres owner and chairman Peter Seidler by naming a street after him near Petco Park, officials said this weekend.

The credits include three installments for qualifying customers totaling over $200 in bill credits in 2024.

"Gas prices are likely to continue trending upward this spring as in prior years," said Doug Shupe, the Automobile Club of Southern California's corporate communications manager.

The announcement comes after a judge struck down San Diego's COVID-19 vaccine mandate, saying only the state can make that a requirement.

Earlier this month, supervisors unanimously voted to oppose any further placements of sexually violent predators until local jurisdictions are able to fully participate in the placement process, including having full veto authority.
