San Diego County reported 1,095 new COVID-19 cases and one additional hospitalization, but no new virus-related deaths, as county leaders Monday encouraged employers to require employees to either show proof of vaccination or get weekly testing.

More than 1.9 million ballots for the Sept. 14 gubernatorial recall election will begin arriving as early Monday in the mailboxes of San Diego County registered voters.
