New Mars Photos Could Reveal Planet’s Mysteries

This week, NASA scientists were thrilled by the dramatic pictures that the Mars rover Opportunity sent back from an enormous Martian crater that might reveal some of the planet’s secrets. And they got an aerial view too, from new pictures taken by the reconnaissance satellite orbiting Mars showing the rover Opportunity parked at the crater’s edge. Host Gloria Penner talks to Dr. Sally Ride about the mystery and discovery surrounding the red planet. Dr. Ride is America’s first woman astronaut and the author of a newly updated book, The Mystery of Mars .
