What’s the 511?

Tom Fudge:  Residents of San Diego now have a number to call if they have anxiety about their commute. The number is 511. 511 systems are being used in a number of urban areas. The new system in San Diego is modeled after a highly successful program in the San Francisco Bay area. They've been using it since 2002.

511 is operated locally by SANDAG, the San Diego Association of Governments. Joining me to tell us what it does is Garry Bonelli.
