Tony Gwynn is getting ready for his trip to Cooperstown. The eight-time batting champ will be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame July 29th. He talked today about some of the festivities taking place at Petco Park this weekend.

Gwynn : There's going be a statue here at Petco on Saturday, I'm pretty excited about that, and they have Tony Gwynn weekend where they're going to give something away every day. Family, friends, are coming -- it's been unbelievable.

Gwynn says he'll cherish being around the history of the game he loves. He also said he's finished his acceptance speech, a task he said was harder than hitting a baseball.
