The editors gather at the roundtable for opinions on the week's news. This week, White House officials were in San Diego to promote a random student drug-testing program for local schools. Is the program fair to the students? Also, the discussion about downtown redevelopment is heating up in anticipation of the City Council's vote on CCDC's Community Plan. How much downtown development is too much? Plus, the Bush Administration's back-door deal that gave an Arab company control of six US ports has legislators on both sides of the aisle in an uproar. Is the White House being hypocritical, or are legislators blowing the deal out of proportion?
