Six former pension trustees will have to stand trial for allegedly violating the state's conflict-of-interest law. A judge yesterday ruled that preliminary evidence in the case was sufficient.

The six defendants are charged with voting to under fund the pension system in return for enhanced retirement benefits. The city's pension deficit is estimated at more than $1.4 billion.
