Feds Propose Nutritional Labels on All Alcohol Beverages

Maureen Cavanaugh (Guest Host): While consumers can get nutritional information directly on the packages of the food they purchase, nutritional facts are currently not required on alcohol beverage bottles and cans. But that may soon change. The Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau, or TTB, is considering a new rule that would require companies to put alcohol content, serving sizes and nutritional information on all alcohol drink containers.

The Treasury Department is seeking public comment on the proposed rule change through October 29, 2007. You can send your comments to their website .
