Authorities say some military personnel and their family members remain in emergency shelters at Camp Pendleton because of a wildfire still burning near one of base housing areas.
Marine Cpl. Gabriela Gonzalez says the fire scorched 3,980 acres and is 75 percent contained Wednesday.
Gonzalez says no home on the base have been destroyed. No deaths or injuries have been reported.
A second smaller fire that started Tuesday on the base burned about 110 acres and has been fully contained, although Gonazalez says brush trucks, similar to fire trucks, are monitoring the fire.
