Reports: Kansas City Chiefs Player Kills Self Near Stadium

A Kansas City Chiefs player has reportedly shot and killed himself at a training facility near Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo. A second shooting of a young woman may also be related. The AP reports:

"Police spokesman Darin Snapp said authorities received a call Saturday morning from a woman who said her daughter had been shot multiple times at a residence about five miles away from the Arrowhead complex. Snapp said a call was then received from the Chiefs' practice facility.

"Upon arriving, Snapp said that police witnessed a black male in a car with a handgun to his head talking to two Chiefs officials. That's when police heard a gunshot."

The 25-year-old player's name has not been released, but a statement posted to the team's website confirms "an incident" and that the team is cooperating with authorities in the investigation.

For now, Fox reports, Arrowhead Stadium has been placed on lockdown.
