A 7-year-old girl survived a small plane crash that killed four in Kentucky, disoriented but well enough to walk to a home and report the crash.
The resident called 911 and she was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Associated Press reports.
Authorities found the aircraft a couple hours later and confirmed that the pilot and three passengers were killed, AP says.
"This girl came out of the wreckage herself and found the closest residence and reported the plane crash," Dean Patterson of the Kentucky State Police told AP. "It's a miracle in a sense that she survived it, but it's tragic that four others didn't."
Kathleen Bergen of the FAA says the pilot of a Piper PA-34 reported engine problems as it fllew over Marshall County in the southwestern part of the state.
Robert Bradfield, reporter for WPSD Local6, tweeted that the victims appear to be a family and a babysitter.
