For the fourth straight morning, San Diego County's coastal and valley areas were subject to dense fog conditions but unlike earlier this week, the fog may linger at some beaches through the afternoon, meteorologists said.
The National Weather Service issued a dense fog advisory for coastal and valley areas until 9 a.m., saying visibility was at a quarter-mile or less in some parts.
"The fog will burn off for most areas during the morning but low clouds and fog could linger near some beaches through the afternoon," the weather service said.
The agency advised motorists to slow down, use their low beam headlights and leave plenty of distance between vehicles.
