GM slashes jobs, scales back production

General Motors announced this week that it will cut nearly 15,000 jobs in North America and end production at several factories in the Midwest and Canada. The decision includes an end to the production of several sedan models as the company promises a larger focus on electric and autonomous vehicles.

Aetna and CVS complete merger

Major healthcare provider Aetna and retail pharmacy chain CVS have finalized a merger valued at $69 billion. The new company plans to roll out changes to CVS stores in 2019 that could streamline the way customers access health care.

Jack In The Box Reportedly Seeks Buyer

Shares of San Diego based fast food chain Jack in the Box rose this week amid several reports that the company is looking to sell. Corporate leadership has not commented on the reports. Jack in the Box has had trouble in recent months with franchisees, who have expressed dissatisfaction with the company's strategic decisions and management.
