More than a dozen tall ships are scheduled to take part in a boat parade through San Diego Bay on Thursday to begin the 2014 Festival of Sail at the Maritime Museum of San Diego.
The vessels will tie up along the downtown waterfront and be available for tours through Labor Day.
Admission to the festival, which the museum touts as the largest of its kind on the West Coast, is $7 for adults, and $5 for seniors, active-duty military with identification, and children ages 3-12.
Some activities, including riding on ships as they conduct mock cannon battles on the bay or sailing on America's Cup yachts, will cost extra.
The parade is set to begin around 11 a.m., and the best viewing will be along the North Embarcadero, Harbor Island and Shelter Island, the Cabrillo National Monument and Coronado.
The windjammers scheduled to participate in the parade are, in order, Californian, Tole Mour, Exy Johnson, Jada, Curlew, Spirit of Dana Point, Irving Johnson, American Pride, Patricia Belle, Bill of Rights, America and Pilgrim, according to the museum.
The ships are scheduled to arrive at the museum around 2 p.m.
