San Diego City Council Takes First Look At Mayor's $3.8 Billion Budget Proposal

Many in the city of San Diego were bracing for major cuts in Mayor Kevin Faulconer's budget plan for the upcoming fiscal year.
But those cuts were averted in his $3.8 billion budget proposal released last week.
The San Diego City Council will get its first look Monday at Faulconer's proposed budget, which boosts infrastructure spending, maintains public services and funds police raises. It also closes $49 million deficit by dipping into reserve funds.
