Chula Vista Mayor Signs Letter Urging Senate To Act On Gun Reform
In light of the recent shootings in El Paso and Dayton more than 200 mayors from across the nation have signed a letter to U.S. Senate leaders urging action on gun safety legislation.
Many of the mayors who have signed the request are from California, including the Mayors of Los Angeles, Sacramento, and San Francisco.
Chula Vista Mayor Mary Salas is the only leader, so far, from San Diego County to sign the petition to have senators return to Washington from recess to pass bipartisan legislation to expand background checks.
Mayor Salas joins Midday Edition Thursday to discuss the proposals.
