NPR's Tiny Desk Contest is now open for submissions as they seek to find the nest great band in the nation.

NPR Music’s Tiny Desk series has given artists a chance to showcase their talent in one of the most intimate settings around — a small desk adorned with musical mementos and memorabilia. The series has featured everyone from Adele to T-Pain.

But it also wants to give the audience a chance to discover unsigned artists.

The 2020 Tiny Desk contest is now seeking to find the next great undiscovered musician. Artists can submit entries through March 30 and KPBS is encouraging San Diego musicians to apply.

As KPBS prepares to host its summer music series, we'll be watching out for any local submissions to the Tiny Desk contest.

Bob Boilen, host of "All Songs Considered" and creator of the Tiny Desk concert series, joined Midday Edition Monday to talk about the contest.
