Making the transition from active-duty military to the civilian world is often a challenging one, both personally and professionally. A new program called 'REBOOT' from National Veterans Transition Services Inc., (NVTSI), is working to make that transition easier.
Located at Liberty Station (formerly the Naval Training Center), 'REBOOT,' which was started by veterans to serve veterans, is about to hold its sixth workshop starting on Nov. 29. The goal of the program is to help veterans build fulfilling and productive civilian lives strengthened by the reforged elements of their military character and experience. You can contact the organization at 866-535-7624, or visit its Facebook page here.
NVTSI's REBOOT Workshops provide a 15-day, three-week course of progressive training. According to Maurice D. Wilson, MCPO, USN (RET), executive director of the National Veterans Transition Services, Inc., some of REBOOT'S goals for veterans include: reduced veteran unemployment; reduced criminal justice costs; improved job placement and stability; reduced veteran homelessness; improved military morale; improved individual & family health & well-being; improved military recruitment & retention; reduced social services costs; and improved public perception of veterans.
