The holidays are usually an opportunity to celebrate with family and friends, but this time of year can also present significant stress, especially for members of the military who are so far away, and their families back on the home front. Joyous reminders of the holiday season can sadly and ironically bring pain and loneliness to some.
Admiral Mike Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, encourages service members and family members to reach out for help if they are struggling with feelings of stress, anxiety or depression.
